When he retired, people throughout the entire plant were aware (see poster, to be added).

I believe this refers to Hutzel Women's Hospital: Hutzel Women's Hospital is the second oldest hospital in the city of Detroit. It traces its lineage to the period right after the American Civil War when a group of seven courageous women formed an association in 1868 to provide care for unwed mothers and their infants. Throughout the late 19th century and early and mid-20th century the hospital became known for its innovative care of women and children, including Detroit's first baby incubator, Michigan's first research laboratory devoted to the "study of women's diseases," and establishment of the nation's first "Mother's Milk Bureau" to ensure a supply of breast milk to infants of non-lactating mothers. In 1965 the Hospital was renamed Hutzel Women's Hospital in honor of Eleonore L. Old Main Hall was built in 1896 as Central High School, which later began adding college classes in 1913. Those classes evolved into the Detroit Junior College in 1917, the College of the City of Detroit in 1923 and now WSU's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In 1933, the Detroit Board of Education organized the siz colleges it ran - liberal arts, medical, education, pharmacy, engineering and a graduate school - into one university. In 1934, that institution was officially named Wayne University, taking its name from the county in which it is located. |

Dad grew up spending summers at Pine Lake with his cousins. There was a cottage owned by his parents, aunts & uncles. He would walk west to Orchard Lake, dive in and swim to Apple Island where Chief Pontiac was said to have held his powwows. They'd pack a lunch, swim back and walk all around Orchard Lake imitating Indians and then go home. Now Pine Lake is a private, all-sports, 395-acre lake in West Bloomfield Township, Oakland County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. The Pine Lake shoreline is lined with high-end exclusive homes. In addition to a marina, Pine Lake Country Club is also located on the lake. Property there is now extremely expensive, exclusively rich. |
