Michael A. Shukwit, Director of Operations, 313-567-3454, mshukwit@@elmcem.org
Michael showed us the location of George Anton Sinz, by measuring, in the Strangers Ground, which is where those without a specific plot are buried. There are ceramic markers buried sometimes as much as 3 feet but by measuring the precise location was identified.
We also discussed the stump by Samuel D. Steen, and the Black Walnut tree by Bertha J. Steen that were displacing the stones. He said that they let the stump rot before removing, and the tree was probably a volunteer but now since they are an arboretum, they usually let trees stand. He may investigate.
Michael maintains the grounds and was extremely helpful.
